Sure, it's a business.
But
it's more than that.
As a small business, we may
not make much of an impact globally, but we have always believed that everyone
should do something. Since
we started Zinger’s in 2001, we’ve tried to "do it right."
That means following the rules and playing fair.
It also means giving the customer the best we can offer and being environmentally friendly.
While not perfect in any of these, we're trying. Here's how:
 |
NO
PLASTIC. NO STYROFOAM. We’ve made every effort to use GREEN supplies as much as
possible. As you sample our ice cream, notice that we use old-fashioned
wooden taster spoons.
When you order, your bowls are grass pulp; your napkins are unbleached
recycled-paper; and your plastic spoons and knives aren’t plastic – they’re
made from GMO-free potato starch!
Even the milkshake straws are paper, not
plastic, and every other serving container is paper, too. |
 |
We use 100% renewable power for electricity, from Green Mountain Energy and
Pacific Power (we also have it at home.) This combination of wind and geothermal
power costs more, but we feel it’s worth it for the environment and our future. |
 |
We select commercial equipment with the Energy Star label. Energy Star qualified
refrigerators must be at least 10% more efficient than the regular minimum standard.
These refrigerators cost more than non-Star brands, but use 1/3 less energy to operate! |
 |
We recycle pretty much everything - cardboard, greyboard, paper, foil, tin cans…and the napkins, paper towels, and toilet paper here were all made from recycled paper. |
 |
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO RECYCLE YOUR CANS, BOTTLES, MAGAZINES,
AND NEWSPAPERS WHILE YOU ARE AT OUR STORE IN OUR RECYCLING CAN. |
We
also provide nutritional information
on everything we sell. This may be especially important for customers with specific
allergies. Please contact a manager BEFORE
you order about specific allergen issues.
